Bangladeshis in Brunei hold Iftar

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN) - The Bangladesh Community in the Belait District held a sungkai at the Serikandi Cafe & Restaurant, Kuala Belait recently.

Guest of honour was Bangladesh High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Air Vice Marshal (Rtd) Mahmud Hussain. He was welcomed by Chairman of this year’s event, Nazmul.

The event started with a speech by the high commissioner where he expressed his gratitude to the organising committee as well as the Bangladeshi community.

The chairman of the event in his speech explained about the importance of fasting and how it helps build closer ties between the community.

Also present were doctors, engineers, businessmen and members of the Bangladeshi community.

The Bangladeshi community presented a gift to the Bangladesh High Commissioner to commemorate the occasion as well as a show of appreciation.

The event continued with the recitation of Doa led by Abdoa Naiyem and the breaking of the fast where the attendees enjoyed different dishes.
