Brunei awards Malaysian navy chief
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN) - His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to award the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Command Badge to Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Admiral Datuk Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany, in recognition for his services in enhancing the relations between RBN and RMN.
The award was presented by Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud at the RBN Headquarters yesterday.
Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy also visited the Ministry of Defence and paid a courtesy call on Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.
During the call, Minister of Defence II and Chief of RMN expressed their satisfaction on the warm and friendly relations between the navies of the two countries. The two sides reiterated their commitment in further strengthening navy-to-navy ties through the exchange of visits, trainings and exercises.
He also paid separate calls to the Commander of the RBAF and Commander of the RBN, First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad.
Admiral Datuk Mohd Reza was appointed as Chief of the RMN on November 30, 2018.
