Brunei entrepreneur wins award in Thailand
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN) - Malaysian born herbalist and founder of local health and beauty products ‘Zahra Callista’, Nur Nizaha won the ‘Most Rapid Growth Entrepreneur 2017", organised by Azizan Osman Titanium Award 2017/2018, at Conrad Bangkok Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand recently.
Nur Nizaha in an interview said she never expected to receive any award but she will cherish the recognition, which was a good shot in the arm to her entrepreneurial spirit.
According to her, she tried different kinds of businesses before getting into the areas of health and beauty products.
She also attended meetings and classes to widen her scope and knowledge on alternative medicine in Sabah and Sarawak.
From there, she started providing postnatal services and massages, traditional spa ‘Lulur’, Mandi Bunga (flower bath), Bertangas (one of the traditional Malay confinement period postnatal care rituals) from house to house.
She made traditional herbal beverages called ‘Jamu’ as well as varieties of aromatherapy bath salts, and derivatives of Lulur products, and formed her own company.
Nizaha came to Brunei some 18 years ago and married her Bruneian husband.
Nizaha thanked the Brunei Government, DARe (Darussalam Enterprise) and ministries for their assistance.
Her advice to budding and aspiring womenpreneurs is to always increase their entrepreneurial knowledge as solely relying on experience is not enough.
She advised others to learn from successful people and to not be complacent because business is always changing and knowledge will provide us with tools to face challenges.
