Bruneian students head to Singapore for youth camp

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN) - Eight sixth form students left Brunei to participate in the STEP – Sunburst Youth Camp 2018 in Singapore.

The camp is scheduled to take place from December 2-8.

Mohd Qawiem Qiwamuddin bin Mohd Mu’izzuddin from Sayyidina Ali Secondary School led the Brunei delegation
which comprise Muhammad Ayyub bin Haji Hussin from Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (Maktab Duli), Awangku Mohammad Hakeem bin Pengiran Haji Md Yussof from Meragang Sixth Form Centre, Muhammad Ikmal bin Mumtazali from Sayyidina Ali Secondary School, Mohd Khairun Naim bin Haji Abdul Khalek from Tutong Sixth Form Centre, Nur Ameera Syafina binti Haji Ariffin from Maktab Duli, Siti Nor Husnina binti Mahali from Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College, Nur Qamelya binti Mohd Rafee from Meragang Sixth Form Centre and Khairunniza binti Sunny from Sayyidina Ali Secondary School.

The participants of the event will take part in activities designed to generate friendship with their peers from Singapore and other nations from Asia, sharing culture and learning each other’s traditional dances, music and experiences.

It is hoped that a network of Asian Youth Leaders will be formed as part of the event’s objectives.

The youth camp event is also designed to foster goodwill and understanding among the youth.
