ALOR SETAR, Malaysia (Sin Chew Daily / ANN) - The Federation of Chin Kang Association in Malaysia has passed a resolution to enhance collaboration with China in the education sector.
The Federation of Chin Kang Association in Malaysia has passed a resolution during its committee meeting to enhance collaboration with China in the education sector, says its president Huang Qing Shun.
He says in the past, the federation has collaboration with Quanzhou College of Technology where it has recruited 34 Malaysian students to study in the college.
This year, the number of students signed up to study in the college exceed 43.
Huang, during the oath-taking ceremony of new committee members of the federation, its youth wing and women’s wing, said the college has recruited students in Malaysia three times. It has also presented five sets of robots to Keat Hwa High School.
Apart from collaborating with Quanzhou College of Technology, Huang said he is of the view that the federation should explore more avenues for students to further their studies in China through the education bureau of the federation. The universities are Huaqiao University, Quanzhou Chinese Medicine College and others.
Huang said currently many Malaysian Chinese students are interested in Chinese medicine and they hope to study in China. Those who are interested should contact the treasurer of the federation Chen Chang Zheng. He said the federation would be able to arrange for students to study in medicine schools in Quanzhou with full waiver of tuition fees.
He said the federation has also organised a tour for 70 people to visit Quanzhou on 19 December. Those who are keen to join the tour are urged to sign up for the tour.
Gong Shu Rong, honorary president of Chin Kang World Association complimented that Kedah and Perlis Chin Kang Association for breaking the tradition to lead the federation on rotation for the first time. The federation has been upgraded to another level with the effort of committee members for eight years.
