Haneda Airport complex to include 1,700 hotel rooms, Mt. Fuji views

TOKYO (The Japan News/ANN) - Haneda Airport Garden, a new commercial complex with direct access to the Haneda Airport international terminal in Tokyo, will be opened on April 21.

A new commercial complex called Haneda Airport Garden, with direct access to the Haneda Airport international terminal in Tokyo, will be opened on April 21. The complex is codeveloped by Sumitomo Realty & Development Co. and features hotels, a mall and a bus terminal, among other facilities.
The 12-story complex has a total floor space of 91,500 square meters with many shops, including those for gifts and cosmetics, and restaurants on the first and second floors. A specific area will promote Japanese culture with stores including one for sensu Japanese traditional folding fans that was established in the Edo period (1603-1867), and a specialty shop for Japanese tea.
The hotels will offer a combined 1,717 rooms, the largest number of hotel rooms directly connected to an airport in the country. An outdoor hot spring facility on the 12th floor of one hotel will allow guests to watch planes taking off and landing, as well as offering a view of Mt. Fuji.
The bus terminal will become a transit hub with about 800 buses coming and going daily, connecting the airport with places as far afield as Aomori and Tokushima prefectures. The bus service is expected to help attract foreign visitors to regional areas.
“We will serve our guests by making the complex attractive to those using Haneda Airport, the gateway to Japan,” the company said.
