Under the competition rules, Ms Phounesup will represent the nation at the international beauty pageant at Tokyo Dome City Hall later this year.

She expressed her appreciation to the organisers for giving her an opportunity to represent Laos on an international stage.

Ms Phounesup also recently joined other finalists of Miss Grand Laos 2017 to visit sponsors to thank them for their support.

President of Miss Grand International Mr Nawat Itsaragrisil passed on his thanks to the local project via an uploaded video and explained that the first runner of Miss Grand Laos 2017 would join her counterpart from Miss Grand Cambodia at the competition in Tokyo with the event’s date yet to be confirmed.

He thanked TVLao for their cooperation in promoting Miss Grand Laos and making it such a big success.  

The upcoming beauty pageant in Japan is staged under the auspices of the Miss International Organisation by the International Cultural Association, which in turn is under the Cultural Exchange Division of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The pageant’s purpose is to promote “friendship and goodwill between all nations of the world” through international exchange.

Since then, the event has helped the association advance cultural exchange on a broad scale by carrying out international activities under the slogans of “achieving world peace through mutual understanding” and “proper understanding of Japan in international society.”
