Myanmar: Yangon govt and Switzerland-based Seedstars to build Yangon Innovation Center

YANGON (Eleven Media Group/ANN) - Yangon regional government in collaboration with Switzerland-based Seedstars has planned to build Yangon Innovation Center, said Naw Pan Thinzar Myo, Minister of Kayin Ethnic Affairs.

The remarks came from the seventh regular session of Second Yangon Region Parliament in Yangon.
Yangon Region MP Mya Hla San representing Kyauktada Township Constituency asked the parliament when Yangon Innovation Center would be built and given trainings to the youths.
Regarding the question of the Yangon regional MP, Naw Pan Thinzar Myo, Minister of Kayin Ethnic Affairs replied that Yangon Innovation Center would be built in the compound of port area of Seikkan. It has an area of about 10,000 square feet. It will be implemented through BOT system. It will have to be built in line with the instructions given by the superiors.
Concerning the establishment of Innovation Center in the international community, the Yangon regional government and Seedstars Co., Ltd initially agreed in principles and the draft was submitted to Yangon Region Attorney General Office. We sought legal suggestions from Yangon Region Attorney General Office and we are carrying out the tasks according to the suggestions, said the minister.
 Seedstars is a Switzerland-based organization and it is providing start-up science services, investments and ecosystems in 85 countries in Asia, Africa and South America.
