NRPC peace negotiators hold informal meeting with ALP representatives in Yangon

NAYPYITAW (Eleven Media Group/ANN) - The peace negotiators of National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC) held an informal meeting with the representatives of Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) at the former's office in Yangon during which both sides focused on transition plan.

The peace negotiators of National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC) held an informal meeting with the representatives of Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) at the former's office in Yangon on October 8 during which both sides focused on transition plan.
"The representatives of the ALP told government peace negotiator Khin Zaw Oo the requirement s for their region. It means informal discussion. They mention difficulties in regional development, but they don't tell military and political affairs," said Hla Maung Shwe, the adviser to the peace commission.
The ALP is allowed nothing to do. The transition plan period has not arrived yet. We would like to discuss with the government how to implement the tasks to be beneficial to the public, said Saw Mya Yazar Lin, CEC member of the ALP.
"We are not allowed to do something about transition plan. We We would like to discuss with the government how to implement the tasks to be beneficial to the public. Public voices are of great importance in our future politics. The government's tension becomes softer now than the past. We are to adjust the situation," said Saw Mya Yazar Lin.
The ALP will discuss with the government what they would like to carry out in Rakhine State and these will also be submitted to the government. The matters relating to the transition plan will be carried out in the safe places. The meeting also spotlighted health, education and livelihoods, said Saw Mya Yazar Lin.
The Chapter 6 of the NCA states that ethnic NCA signatories can carry out the matters relating to health, education, social affairs and economic development.
The ALP is an ethnic NCA signatory together with seven ethnic armed organisations  signed the NCA in 2015.   
Present on the informal meeting were Lt-Gen Khin Zaw Oo (Retd), Secretary of Peace Commission, Adviser Hla Maung Shwe, Zaw Htay, Director-General of State Counsellor Office, Saw Mya Yazar Lin, CEC member of the ALP, Saw Ma Pu Sein, Brig-Gen Khaing Moe Chan, Colonel Khaing Soe Mya, Joint-Secretary Khaing Aung Soe Than and Khaing Aung Thein Htay of Auxiliary Central Committee.
