Students S’pore bound for exchange programme

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ ANN) - Six participants of the Assistant Nursing Progamme under the Institute of Brunei Technical Education Agro-Technology Campus (IBTE ATC) along with instructor Singgah Edong will attend clinical lectures in Nursing Courses at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College East in Singapore.

It is part of the Oversea Industrial Attachment Programme (OIAP) initiated by the ITE Singapore with the Nursing Services Department at the Ministry of Health of Brunei Darussalam in 2010.

The exchange programme is being held from August 5-18.

The exchange programme aims to increase close collaborations between both educational institutions in increasing awareness from health perspectives through exposing and increasing the awareness within the host’s institutional and clinical venue of Singapore Hospital, the Singapore Health Care System and Nursing by the country’s standards.

The exchange programme is also held to identify differences in nursing practices and education between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore while developing appreciation of the different cultures of both host countries.

The exchange programme will offer the IBTE ATC students an opportunity to be attached to the Medical and Surgical Unit in Singapore Hospital during the second week.
