Thai firm eyes expansion with official launch in Lao market
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) - Thai company, Brother Commercial Ltd is eyeing further opportunities for their business in the Lao market after a decade of distributing its products locally.
The details were revealed by the firm during an official launch and press conference for the Brother brand in Laos that was held at Crown Plaza Hotel, Vientiane on Wednesday.
“Laos has the highest economic growth in Asean countries which means there is a more potential in the market. This country is in the digital transformation period so both the government and private sectors now see new technologies as important to their work” Managing Director of Brother Thailand, Mr Teerawut Supapunpinyo said.
“Some private companies and government organisations in Laos rent office equipment such as printers and scanners instead of buying because they don’t want to worry about the after sales service or repairs,” Mr Teerawut added.
Based on local growth potential, the company plans to export more products to meet the demand from IT and digital equipment users in Laos during the digital transformation.
The company sees Laos as one of the best market opportunities after their sales continually increasing since they started exporting products to their northern neighbour.
Currently, some five local IT outlets have become official sales representatives and after-sales service centres for Brother.
Brother Commercial Thailand is under Brother Industry Ltd which launched its business in Thailand over 20 years ago. The company produces a variety of consumer and office products such as printers, scanners, and sewing machines.
